Anne Zagré en Soufiane Bouchiki, beiden studerend in de Verenigde Staten, hebben zich voor hun universiteit geplaatst voor de nationale NCAA kampioenschappen. Ze deden dat op de NCAA East Regionals.
Anne Zagré, nationaal recordhoudster op de hoge horden, klokte een seizoensbeste van 13″03 op de 100m horden. Voor haar Florida State University werd ze daarmee derde in de halve finale, wat haar rechtstreeks kwalificeerde voor het nationale kampioenschap. Ze werd in totaal zevende.
Soufiane Bouchikhi won de 5000m. In zijn reeks liep hij meteen van het pak weg en stoomde solo naar winst in 14’04″47. Bouchikhi komt uit voor de Eastern Kentucky University.
